Author & Clinician

In 2005, Sherry published her first Book/CD titled
"The Flying Jazz Kittens Volume 1!" She brought her
love as a jazz improviser on the bass and combined it
with her love of teaching young students. The first of its
kind, music teachers around the country are purchasing
the Book/CD set because of their interest in finding
user-friendly jazz activities to implement into their elementary music curriculum.

The activities and songs encourage and introduce
the unique rhythmical feel of jazz, as well as
provide opportunities to sing blues melodies and
play classroom instruments in a jazzy style. All
activities are flexible and include variations so that
teachers can use what works best for them.

The writing of the Flying Jazz KIttens Book/CD set has led to numerous workshop
and clinic presentations across the country to spread the word of jazz to elementary students and teachers.

Sherry continues to present clinics for teachers using activities and ideas from her book and CD, and also teaches workshop programs for kids. She is currently writing her next Jazz Kitten Book/CD set for young children which will be available in 2010.

For more information on Sherry's Book/CD click on to "The Flying Jazz Kittens" page.
