Sherry is a Cleveland, Ohio native who has lived in Los Angeles for the last ten years. She graduated with a degree in Music Education from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University in 1993. She pursued studies in both classical and jazz bass. In 1992, Sherry was selected as the bass player in Ohio’s All-state college jazz ensemble directed by renowned educator Jamey Abersold. In 1990, her classical training led her to a position in the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra bass section which she held for three years while finishing her degree.

Sherry has performed and recorded in many different ensembles including numerous musicals, orchestras, jazz bands and small groups. She has also done studio recordings for rock, soul and experimental jazz groups. To see and hear more, check out the "Recordings" page.

In 1999, Sherry completed her Master’s degree in classical bass studies from Cleveland State University. She then moved to Los Angeles where she was appointed a teaching position. For the last ten years, Sherry has continued to teach and perform regularly around town, and has become an author and clinician in the field of elementary jazz music.
